March 8 (Bloomberg) — Mark Luschini, chief investment strategist at Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, talks with Bloomberg’s Lori Rothman and Mark Crumpton about the outlook for the Standard & Poors 500 Index and his equity investment strategy. Equity mutual funds are burning through cash at the fastest rate in 18 years, leaving them with the smallest reserves since 2007 in a sign that gains for the S&P 500 Index may slow. The President: The Russian economy needs a modernization strategy. Russian business must make greater investments within the country. We need an independent and developed banking system. Chinas experience is very interesting and nice, but this is not our way. diversification of economy and introduction of advanced, modern and innovative technology.

Russian business must make greater investments within the country, stressed President. Kirill Dmitriev, President of Icon Private Equity said that in the past, Russian business was actively investing overseas. Now its a very critical time when capital is also needed in Russia. New work places have to be created here. So I think the president expects Russian business to think how we can be more productiveand how business can partner with the government to make progress and achieve good results, Dmitriev told RT.

While 2009 was a year of caution for most private equity investment firms, 2010 is looking optimistic especially for the logistics sector, which expects to seal many a deals this year.
